“Fesco Shipping Group has launched the Fesco Baltorient Line direct shipping service between ports in China and St. Petersburg under the framework of the development of foreign trade routes in the Deep Sea,” the source said. The new route is the first to link China and northwestern Russia through the Suez Canal, eliminating the need for other ships to transfer cargo at European ports. The transport service will run along the two-way routes of Rizhao – Lianyungang – Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – St. Petersburg. The shipping time is about 35 days, and the shipping frequency is once a month, with the hope of increasing the number of trips. The newly launched freight service mainly carries consumer goods, products from the timber, chemical and metallurgical industries, as well as dangerous goods and goods requiring temperature control.
